He is entirely self-taught and describes his work as hotel chic and glamour. The iconic Amsterdam canal houses form a recurring theme in his oeuvre, often playfully combined with logos of luxury brands.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlthough his style is modern, he uses classical techniques, inspired by masters such as Rembrandt. Each painting begins with a charcoal sketch on canvas, after which he builds it up in 8 to 12 layers of acrylic paint.
