About this artwork
Visual artist Peter Klashorst (1957) quickly gained fame after graduating from the Amsterdam Rietveld Academy in 1981. As co-initiator of the artist collective ''After Nature'', Klashorst gave a new impetus to Dutch art history.
''After Nature'' opposed abstract expressionism and entered the scene in the eighties and nineties with an innovative figurative painting style. Klashorst has already won several awards for his progressive work and unique style. He exhibits at home and abroad.
His passion for painting has not stopped him from pursuing other art forms. For example, Peter Klashorst plays guitar in the rock band Soviet Sex and has presented several television programs.
