Lars Tunebo (born in 1962 in Lysekil) has made a name for himself in the international art world thanks to his unique talent as a self-taught artist and his colorful works. In his studio in Gothenburg, he experiments with techniques and materials ranging from bronze and glass to painting, photography, and mixed media. With his work represented in prestigious private collections and a track record of over 25 years of important exhibitions in Europe, the Middle East, and the United States, he has found his own artistic voice.
His work is an interplay of humor and reflection, placing vibrant animals in brightly lit urban landscapes around the world in both unexpected and amusing scenes. As an artist, Lars Tunebo is fascinated by cultural symbols and their meaning to us humans. He connects icons from popular culture with art historically important figures, exploring what emerges at their intersection. Here, the world of rock meets classical art history.
