About this artwork
Van Apple - Sculpture - Gorilla with oil drum - Large
Pop-art sculpture of a roaring King Kong lifting a large oil drum above his head with outstretched arms. The gorilla is painted with graffiti and the oil drum the gorilla is holding up says 'LOVE'.
Characteristic of Van Apple's work is the handmade finish with high-gloss epoxy resin. This not only gives the sculpture an intense depth and shine but also creates an exclusive modern look.
Also available in a small version of 40 cm.
About Van Apple:
Van Apple (Diederik van Appel, born 1985 in Leiden) grew up surrounded by comic books, iconic movies, and a fascination for fantasy versus reality. After years of working as an art representative in an Amsterdam gallery, he began designing his own sculptures in which pop culture, fashion, and well-known brands come together — the Fashion Monkeys are the clearest example of this.
Dimensions: Large - 85 x 45 cm
Material: Resin with acrylic paint

As an art collector I am satisfied with the advice of Moderne Kunst! The choice of artists such as Pieter Vonk, Van Apple, Nissim Men and Peter Donkersloot makes me feel like a kid in a candy store.
We were helped professionally and enthusiastically. We were even allowed to take several paintings on inspection. Our Guy Olivier hangs great! We will definitely come back.
What a great shop:-) We dropped in on a Saturday and were helped very pleasantly. After seeing a beautiful work, we thought about it for a while, and then it was no problem to see the screen print within our interior.
