This unique artwork is characterized by the three-dimensional painting techniques Francisco uses; the figures Francisco paints together form 2 flamingos. The flamingos are faced towards each other and form a heart. Bartus, born in Valencia, combines elements of abstraction and pointillism in his work to create his own unique, three-dimensional style.
Three-dimensional techniques and materials
In each composition, Bartus uses mixed media: from oil paint to acrylic, from pastels to textiles. By continuously adding new layers, a tangible relief is created that invites the viewer not just to see, but almost to experience. The result is dynamic shadowing and a tactile texture that makes his paintings almost leap off the canvas.
