The dancing girl - Streetshot by Gert Willem Haasnoot

She is in ecstasy; wearing her sunglasses, she is dancing. Not with large movements, but subdued. She stands on a sink that has long since lost its function. Slowly, she is peeling off the wall. Perhaps her eyes are closed behind her sunglasses; sie traumt von der vergangenheit.

The Hackesche Höfe is a small graffiti oasis in a part of Berlin full of expensive shops. That which once naturally colored part of the city suddenly becomes a protected and cordoned-off piece to remind us of a bygone time, before East and West were reunited.

The photo is printed on an aluminum dibond plate; the flat artwork has a frame on the back, which makes it hang 'floating' on the wall.

An ode to street art by photographer Gert Willem Haasnoot

Graffiti, once considered vandalism, is increasingly being accepted as a full-fledged art form. Photographer Gert Willem Haasnoot has been photographing graffiti on the streets of Berlin, Valencia, Barcelona, and recently also in Amsterdam for ten years.

Limited edition of 5 pieces. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
