Je Shen
Je Shen, born in Jiangxi, China, in 1973. After graduating from the Guangzhou School of Fine Arts, he continued his studies at the Beijing Academy of Fine Arts. Over the years, his work has been exhibited internationally through solo and group exhibitions in Asia, Europe, and the United States.
Technique
Je Shen combines thin acrylic layers for the background with thick oil paint layers in the foreground. This gives his works exceptional depth and an almost three-dimensional effect. His use of light and optical illusions ensures that a painting looks different as the light in the room changes.
