About this artwork
Ronald Chapeau's ode to the iconic British singer Amy Winehouse. Amy with her signature beehive and heavy, dark eye makeup against a light blue background with bright, expressive pink and orange brushstrokes and dynamic white paint splatters.
Chapeau works with a distinctive mix of screen printing, collage, and thick layers of acrylic paint, often enriched with vintage newspapers. The result is a layered, tactile piece that never feels entirely flat.
The monotypes are produced by the artist in a very limited edition and are stretched on a deep stretcher frame with the sides painted as well.
