Modern Hollywood Glamour version of the classic masterpiece 'The Night Watch'
This artwork is a modern pop-art interpretation of 'The Night Watch' by Rembrandt, created by the Dutch artist Diederik van Appel. In a humorous and provocative way, he has replaced all the faces with famous Hollywood actors and pop icons. The addition of a large chandelier and animals such as lions, a mammoth, and butterflies also gives the work a touch of glamour.
The artwork is printed on an aluminium dibond plate and covered in epoxy for a glossy effect. The flat artwork has a frame on the back, which makes it hang 'floating' on the wall.

Diederik van Appel is a contemporary artist from Leiden. Under the name Van Apple Art, he combines pop culture, iconic brands, film, and children's cartoons into colourful, recognisable works with a quirky visual language.
